Spring Cleaning..Fresh Start

Hello everyone,

I know it has been a long time since I have written. You can all thank Katie for getting me back on the blog wagon and hopefully this time I don't leave you hanging. This past week was Spring Break! Very very relaxing! I had many things on my to-do list for this past week and I am only in the middle of the first thing. The first thing on my to-do list was to read The Road by Cormac Macarthy for one of my literature classes. I have about an hour left to go and I should be done with it! Everything else left on my to-do list will just have to wait until Sunday. I am sure I will be cramming and crazy trying to race to get everything done but I would have to say I really enjoyed really relaxing these past few days.

I put in extra hours at the office and with the little guys that I work with. The weather has been nice so I have been able to take the kids outside and play!! We can't wait to get out all of the lawn toys and then soon the one little guy will be able to open up his swimming pool!

This semester has been completely crazy. I am taking two education practicum courses. Math and Social Studies. I teach about the United States to a fourth grade classroom in inner city Providence. It has been one of the biggest challenges and learning experiences yet in college! I teach my first math lesson next Tuesday so hopefully it goes well! Along with these two classes I am taking three literature courses! So if I am not writing a lesson plan then I can be found with my nose in a book. Out of the books we have done thus far I really only enjoyed one so it's been a rough couple of books that I have forced myself to get through. Especially when I have the book Chris gave me for Valentine's Day staring at me and saying "pick me up and read me instead!"

Here is the book I got for Valentine's Day. I did start it! It talks about the importance of one moment in a child's life and how that one moment can make or break the student for life. Great inspirational read for anyone who works with kids!

Well, wish me luck as I finish these other book! I will work hard to write on this blog and keep you all up to date with the news from the Lil' Rhodie!

P.S. In ten minutes Chris will have finished his 4th week at the Correctional Officer Academy! Five more weeks to go!!! Great job hun! I am so proud of you. Out of over 4000 people who applied Chris made it!! That is because he is awesome of course!
